Sage went to her new home on Saturday, and will become best friends with
one of our favorite boarders, a yellow lab named Boo.  Now with
just four left,
things are much quieter.  No, no, it's still very noisy, but it did cut down a little.

The vet is coming to our house tomorrow to give them their second set of
shots, and the two girls that have gone to new homes, still in the area, have
been invited to be here for their shots as well.  So it will be kind of a
reunion...sort of, without Onida, of course, because coming from South
Carolina would be a bit of a stretch for Tim.  Here are a few shots I took of
the kids attacking Tina while sitting on the lawn.
Yesterday's visit from Dr. Leslie Griffin - Wild Things Mobile Veterinary Clinic
- went great!  Cara, formerly known as Snowball, and Sage, formerly known
as Riker, came for their second set of shots for the pup's ninth week.  Having
Dr. Leslie come to the house is SO nice!  And she's fantastic!  Anyway, in the
thirty minutes or so that Sage and Cara had to make up lost time with their
littermates, they not only made up for every second of it, but they ran the
account ahead enough to last until the next time!  They played and ran like
they were never apart!

Dr. Leslie was very satisfied with their development, and said they are further
along than most puppies their age.  She was amazed how they had not
pooped in their pen, and how they quickly ran outside and did their business
on cue, then made a beeline back inside.  She said that was extraordinary for
pups that young.  Shoot, I knew that!

When Cara came in our front door, it was amazing how much her ears have
stood up in the week or so since she went to her new home.  Actually, they're
up about the same amount Gypsy's are.  Below is Gypsy in a Yoda moment.

Below, the pups are 10 weeks old, growing like weeds and getting into everything
they shouldn't!  You know the little rubber cups on door stops?  They know them
well!  Any weather stripping around doors that sticks out?  Well, it doesn't stick out
anymore.  Sod that's been rooted for over a year now, they know how to yank it up!
Man, do they remind me of the Alabama kids (Woody, Stormy, Randy and Hannah -
see the
"About Us" page of the Beechwood Trails site) after we rescued them and
got them well enough where they finally could enjoy their puppyhood.  There's
something about puppies that are too sick, and/or are having to worry about finding
food to live on that breaks my heart.  Puppies should only have to worry about
having fun.
